PDEA: PBBM admin destroyed P41.95-B dangerous drugs since 2022

CAPAS, Tarlac (PIA) —The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has already destroyed about 10,840.97 kilograms of dangerous drugs valued at P41.95 billion since December 2022, according to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Isagani Nerez.

Part of it is the newly destroyed P9.48 billion worth of dangerous drugs at the Clean Leaf International Corporation, a duly registered waste management company situated in Barangay Cutcut II in Capas, Tarlac.

President Marcos personally witnessed the entire process of incineration with Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, Nerez, and Dangerous Drugs Board Chairperson Oscar Valenzuela.

Among the dangerous drugs destroyed were 1,304.604 kilograms of floating packs of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, valued at P8.87 billion discovered by fishermen off the the provinces of Zambales, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Cagayan.

These prohibited substances were incinerated at 1,000 degrees centigrade inside a chamber.

All chemical compounds of said substances were completely decomposed or broken down as a result of the tremendous heat. (CLJD/SFV, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
