SUBIC, Zambales – Thousands of schoolchildren at various barangays in Subic town received free school bags and school supplies from the local government under the continuing education program of Mayor Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun.

The back-to-school school freebies were distributed personally by Subic Chief of Staff Janjo Khonghun, with the help of town councilors and barangay chairmen.

Mayor Khonghun said the distribution of school supplies was meant to better prepare the schoolchildren for this schoolyear and help trim down the expenses by their parents.

Meanwhile, parents and teachers welcomed the support from the LGU to the education sector, saying it was a huge relief especially for families in difficult financial situation.

Mayor Khonghun pledged to continue his administration’s educational and livelihood programs to give the Subikeño youth better opportunities. ▲
