SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) Clinic of the San Marcelino District Hospital (SMDH) received a “full compliance” report from the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) during an assessment by the PhilHealth Region-III Office on May 28.

Dr. Cresencio T. Gonzales, SMDH Chief of Hospital, said the YAKAP Clinic here passed the Routine Facility Services Onsite Assessment (RFSOA) with flying colors.

The RFSOA is a regulatory compliance and quality assurance review conducted by PhilHealth to evaluate healthcare providers to gauge whether accredited facilities maintain the minimum standards required to participate in government health programs.

The assessment, which covered quality of service, facilities and equipment, documentation, patient care processes, and compliance with PhilHealth policies, was conducted by Dr. Cheryl B. Dimalanta and five other staff from PhilHealth Region-III.

Gonzales said the compliance certification underscores the SMDH’s commitment to quality and reliable health services, as directed by Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr.

He added that the SMDH continues to be proactive in its delivery of public service, as evidenced by its “Balik-Eskwela Ready, Dahil Ako ay Health” project, which provided free health screening to students 6 to 12 years old prior to the start of the schoolyear.

The back-to-school project held on May 20, 25 and 27, included pulmonary tuberculosis screening (chest X-ray and medicine); anemia check (complete blood count and blood typing); deworming program; and dental check-up and fluoride application.

Early this month, the SMDH also offered free medical consultation, laboratory tests, X-ray and ultrasound check-up, as well as free medicines to residents under a PhilHealth YAKAP project. – Taktikom News & Features
