IBA, Zambales — The Zambales provincial government has opened a Sports Clinic Program to further develop and hone homegrown athletes and strengthen the competitiveness and performance of local youth in sports competitions.
The program was formally launched by the Provincial Sports Development Office (PSDO) on May 2 and had since attracted the participation of local athletes coming from various disciplines.

With the availability of local coaches, the program soon included training in archery, arnis, and basketball, he added.

The Zambales contingent finished second overall in the said regional sports event, taking home 53 gold, 42 silver, and 79 bronze medals, and emerging as 1st runner-up in the elementary level and 2nd runner-up in the secondary level.
Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. had expressed satisfaction over the CLRAA turnout and pledged the provincial government’s all-out support for local athletes, pointing out that their strong performance “bannered the pride of Zambales in athletics.”
Ballesteros, meanwhile, expressed optimism that the Sports Clinic would further improve the talent and capability of local athletes, and strengthen their discipline to face tough competition in sporting events.
