IBA, Zambales — Provincial department offices will temporarily move into a new location in preparation for their eventual transfer to the new Capitol building, which is currently under construction.

This was announced by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr. following his inspection of the Temporary Relocation Buidling on April 28, along with consultant Engr. Domingo Mariano, the governor’s executive assistant Larraine B. Rico, and other provincial engineers.

According to Ebdane, the newly constructed building will be ready by the end of May to serve as temporary location for provincial department offices to ensure continuity of service by the provincial government.

He added that the old Capitol Building will be given new lease on life as a center for community activities and programs.

“We want to ensure that every centavo of tax paid by Zambaleños is utilized for projects that will uplift the province and boost the programs and services of the provincial government for the people,” Ebdane also said.

Meanwhile, the Zambales Sports Complex track in Iba is currently temporarily closed as of April due to the construction of a new international-standard stadium.

The new facility, designed to seat between 15,000 and 17,000 spectators, is expected to officially open in the first quarter of 2027 to support the province’s bid for the 2027 Palarong Pambansa.

The project temporarily hit a snag in late 2025 after the initial contractor’s license was revoked, leading the provincial government to oversee the completion of the P500-million facility. ▲
