Rep. Khonghun dons PCGA Commodore’s cap

PASAY CITY — Deputy Speaker and Zambales 1st District Rep. Jay Khonghun added another feather to his cap, as he was formally conferred the rank of Auxiliary Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) during ceremonies held at the PCG Headquarters today, April 22.

The donning of rank and oath-taking rites were led by PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, who also administered the oath and conferred the honorary rank on Khonghun.

Khonghun said the recognition was a significant honor, as it carries a deeper responsibility to further strengthen public service, promote maritime protection, and assist communities, especially during disasters and emergencies.

“This recognition inspires me to continue serving our people and supporting efforts that safeguard our coastal communities,” Khonghun added.

The lawmaker also expressed gratitude to his family, particularly Subic Mayor Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun for their unwavering support during important milestones in his public service career.

He likewise thanked the residents of Olongapo City and the people of Zambales for their continued trust and confidence. – Alex Galang
