Subic arts festival spotlights local artists

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — A three-day Arts Fiesta was held here at the at the Mini Golf Course along Waterfront Road from February 27 to March 1 to showcase creations by local artists from Olongapo City, Zambales, and Bataan.

Organized by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism Department in collaboration with local art house Sip and Sketch ‘Gapo in celebration of the National Arts Month, the festival featured more than 30 local creators in pottery, junk journaling, handmade jewelry and beadwork, Macramé crafts, illustrated prints, live painting, and hands-on art demonstrations.

The artists included renowned potter Mia Casal who established a popular pottery studio in San Narciso, Zambales.

Also participating in the festival were AjajaiArt, AOI, Aumbraer, Babaylan Creations, BevyStory, Blum, Bricks Bouquet by Kristala, Cayermann, Crafted by Jae, Crochet.Aehoga, Eca Crafts, Gana Dei Cafe, Gawang Diwa, Hubog Kultura, I J’Adore Face Painting, Kitrus, Krystal’s Accessories, Letra Atbp,. Megumihr, Miruriisan, Nails by Amber, PapelUlit, Paul Gillesania, Play with the Little CEOs, Prod.Juice, Seventh Gloomy Blossom, Studio Dalisay, The Phantom Circuit, and The Soul Soapery.

The art festival also featured outdoor markets, live acoustic music, and local food offerings. ▲
