SECRETARY Vince Dizon of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has cleared the Second Engineering District Office of Zambales of any anomaly in flood control projects following an investigation conducted by authorities.
Dizon said the probe found no evidence of irregularities in the implementation of infrastructure projects undertaken by the DPWH-Zambales 2nd District Engineering Office (2nd DEO) in the First Congressional District.
The First Congressional District covers Olongapo City and the municipalities of Subic, Castillejos, and San Marcelino in Zambales, and is represented by Zambales First District Representative and House Deputy Speaker Jay Khonghun.

The DPWH chief also expressed full confidence in the officials and personnel of the DPWH- Zambales 2nd DEO in a recent meeting with OIC District Engineer Rey Lerio and Engineer III and Assistant Chief of Construction March Redolme, wherein Dizon also cited their proper execution of duties.
Earlier, the Independent Committee on Infrastructure (ICI) directed a joint investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) after controversy erupted over a flood control project in the district.
Authorities reported that the projects subjected to scrutiny were properly documented, and no anomalies were uncovered after verification.
Dizon emphasized the importance of ensuring that government infrastructure projects remain free from irregularities, and underscored the need to safeguard their integrity for the benefit of the public.
He added that continued vigilance is necessary to protect infrastructure initiatives being implemented nationwide to ensure they serve their intended purpose and uphold public trust.
