SUBIC, Zambales — Four new classrooms at the Kolehiyo ng Subic were officially opened through a ribbon-cutting and turnover ceremony, a development expected to further enhance the quality of education for students.
The inauguration was led by Deputy Speaker and 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun, and was witnessed by key officials of the college, including Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun, Mayor of Subic and chairman of the Board of Trustees, as well as Dr. Rosely Agustin, college president, together with faculty members and students.
According to Khonghun, the additional classrooms are a response to the steadily increasing number of students from Subic and nearby municipalities served by the college.

The expansion aims to improve campus facilities and further raise the standard of education provided to students.
Khonghun emphasized that the project is part of his legislative initiatives to support the education sector within his district.
In his speech, he also expressed his gratitude to his father, former Subic Mayor and current Mayor of Castillejos, Jeffrey D. Khonghun, who led the establishment of Subic College in 2002.
He added that Mayor Jon Khonghun is now continuing the mission to strengthen and further improve the college for the benefit of future generations.
“Ang ating pagtahak sa landas na ito ay hindi naging madali. Marami tayong dinaanang pagsubok, ngunit dahil sa pagmamahal natin sa mga estudyante, sa Kolehiyo ng Subic at sa kinabukasan ng ating mga anak na ating inaalagaan, patuloy nating ilalaban ang pagpapabuti ng KNS upang lalo pa itong gumanda at makatulong sa buhay ng mga mamamayan,” Khonghun added.
Meanwhile, officials of Subic College assured their continued collaboration with various government agencies to implement programs that will provide better and quality education for the youth of Subic and neighboring areas. — Alex Galang
