Rising Champions: Zambales athletes capture medals and memories at Batang Pinoy 2025

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Batang Pinoy 2025 National Championships officially concluded with the Province of Zambales proudly celebrating the remarkable achievements of its young athletes who showcased grit, courage, and passion on the national stage.

From October 21 to 31, 2025, thousands of delegates from all over the country gathered in General Santos City to participate in 28 sporting events, and Zambales stood out among them with multiple medal wins and inspiring performances.

Young sepak takraw players from Botolan National High School—Emmanuel Alcantara, Jan Trevor Gamboa, Clyder Lance Maguinlang, and Xian Lagarto—captured a bronze medal in the 14-under category at Notre Dame University, a well-earned victory under the guidance of coaches Cyril Cañones and Deo Cañones.

In Muay Thai, Grade 6 fighter Raemielle Morissette Pascasio of San Gregorio Elementary School displayed outstanding skill and heart, securing a silver medal in the Female 12–13 years, 36kg division, with Ronilo M. Amasan as her coach.

Owen Jhay D. Millo of Panan National High School added another silver medal for Zambales in the Under-18 Discus Throw event at the Antonio C. Acharon Sports Complex, earning praise from provincial officials. Donald Ermita was his coach.

Meanwhile, Muay Thai athlete Ronilo Amasan Jr. of San Antonio battled fiercely in the 36kg category to claim bronze, and chess talent Caissa Regina shone at Robinsons General Santos City, earning bronze medals in both Standard and Rapid events.

The Zambales contingent was composed of 74 athletes and 37 officials and coaches led by key sports leaders—Sir William Roderick R. Fallorin, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent; Sir Jade D. Ballesteros, Provincial Sports Development Officer; Sir Bryan Jester S. Balmeo, Division Sports Officer; and Ma’am Mariflo M. Aysip, Division Sports Coordinator—along with dedicated personnel from the Schools Division Office of Zambales and the Provincial Sports Development Office who ensured the athletes were guided, prepared, and well-supported throughout their journey.

Beyond the medals, this year’s Batang Pinoy campaign becomes a lasting milestone for Zambaleño youth, who not only proved their excellence but also forged friendships, built character, and discovered new confidence.
