SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines, Inc. (AGAP) has recognized the local government of San Marcelino for having one of the Outstanding Accounting Offices for CY 2024.
San Marcelino LGU representatives Madeline Amigable and Marife Ramos received the award on behalf of Mayor Elvis Soria and Municipal Accountant Mauna Kae Bautista during the AGAP 75th Founding Anniversary celebration at SMX Convention Center, Davao City on October 7.
AGAP, which promotes high professional standards and fiscal responsibility among government accountants, focuses on advancing public financial management, ensuring transparency, and fostering innovation in handling public resources.
Mayor Soria said the citation was a great honor for San Marcelino because out of the 1,705 local government units in the country, the town was among the select 123 government offices that received the award.
The citation, he added, underscores San Marcelino LGU’s efforts to excel in good governance, audit opinion, accuracy, and timeliness in putting out the CY 2024 annual financial reports.
Soria also congratulated the Municipal Accounting Office staff, adding that the award should serve to inspire them to continue serving the public with honesty and excellence.
