BOTOLAN, Zambales — Local athletes across the 13 towns of Zambales are now ready to lock horns for hometown glory in the Zambales Intertown Sports League 2025 organized by the office of Second District Congresswoman Doris “Nanay Bing” Maniquiz.
The sports competition kicked off on October 5 with a grand parade that culminated at the Botolan People’s Plaza where the various teams were presented.

Zambales volleyball rockstar Veanne De Guia, who was named Most Valuable Player in the recent Palarong Pambansa, lighted the Olympic urn to symbolically start the games.
Most of the participating Zambales local government units fielded both men’s and women’s teams for the featured sports: basketball, volleyball, baseball, and sepak takraw.

In the opening ceremony, the teams with the best uniform, chant, muse and escort were chosen in a selection wildly cheered on by their respective LGUs.
The chant competition among the various participating LGUs was won by the Cabangan delegation, while the Botolan players’ team was named best in uniform.
Meanwhile, in a hotly contested event that emphasized both beauty and brilliance, judges gave the nod to the muse of San Narciso town as the Miss Intertown Sports League 2025. The Mr. Town Intertown Sports League 2025 title, on the other hand, was handily won by the Subic candidate.
With elimination rounds to be held in all the featured games to whittle down competition to the championship level, the playing dates for the Intertown Sports League this year are expected to extend until December. – Taktikom News & Features
