CANDELARIA, Zambales — Botolan Mayor Jun Omar C. Ebdane assumed leadership of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Zambales Chapter following the election of a new set of officers on Aug. 12 at the Brio de Agoho Resort in this town.

Ebdane took over the LMP reins from Castillejos Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun, who served as president for 2022-2025.

The LMP-Zambales election was supervised by Department of Interior and Local Government acting provincial director Melissa D. Nipal and LMP National deputy executive director Vingaye Pizarro.

Aside from Ebdane who was elected president, the newly-elected LMP-Zambales officials are: Mayor Byron Jones E. Edquilang of Candelaria, secretary; Mayor Elvis R. Soria (San Marcelino), treasurer; Mayor La Rainne Abad-Sarmiento (San Narciso), auditor; and Mayor Arvin Rolly D. Antipolo (San Antonio), public relations officer.

Those elected as members of the board of directors are: Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun; Mayor Christian Danile H. Aceron (Palauig); Mayor Consolacion Marty (Sta. Cruz); and Mayor John F. Khonghun (Subic).

The new set of officers took their oath of office before Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. on Aug. 29 at Balin Sambali in Iba. – Henry Empeño
