LOOK: Typhoon ‘Carina’ situation

Botolan Mayor Jun Omar Ebdane assesses the situation at the Bucao River on July 24, as continuous rains in the last three days whipped up by Typhoon Carina threatens to flood low-lying areas in the municipality.

Meanwhile, emergency rescue workers evacuate the remains of a departed when floodwaters threatened to disrupt the wake held at Barangay Paco in Botolan on July 25. The rescue team braved waist-deep floodwaters to bring the casket to the Botolan People’s Plaza, more than a kilometer away.

With the growing number of residents relocating to designated evacuation centers, personnel from the Mayor’s Office and other volunteers maintain a soup kitchen to feed the hungry evacuees in this photo taken on July 26.
