ONE IN PREPAREDNESS

Q2 NSED strengthens community resilience and safety awareness

June 28, 2024 marked a significant step forward in disaster preparedness as communities across the nation participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

Spearheaded by SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown with the support from the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Phil. National Police (PNP) and Barangay Rescue team, employees and customers engaged in the drill at exactly 2:00PM, demonstrating their commitment to safety and preparedness.

Organized by SM Supermalls, the drill aimed to simulate real-life earthquake scenarios, encouraging mallgoers and employees to “Duck, Cover, and Hold” as they would during an actual earthquake. This collective effort emphasizes the importance of readiness and the role of community cooperation in mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
