IN the recently concluded job fair hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through Public Employment Service Office (PESO), together with SM malls, a high number of applicants were hired on the spot (HOT), validating its efficacy.

Job fairs in SM North Luzon Malls, specifically SM City Olongapo Central, SM City Rosales, SM City Grand Central, SM City San Jose Del Monte, SM City Baguio, SM City Tuguegarao, SM City Bataan, SM City Pampanga and SM City Marilao, generated a large applicant turnout and HOTS.

In SM City Olongapo Central, 64 jobseekers were hired on the spot, out of a total of 216 job applicants who attended. A total 58 companies participated during the 2024 Labor Day Job Fair.

In all, North Luzon malls generated a total of 764 hired on the spot, while 403 companies joined, and 4,353 job applicants attended the job fairs.

During the opening ceremony at SM City Olongapo Central, PD DOLE Zambales Reynante Lugtu expressed his gratitude to the participating employers and congratulated all the job applicants and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity.

He also gave his personal appreciation to SM Olongapo Central for the untiring support and good partnership with DOLE.

Also present during the event are Olongapo PESO Manager Mario Esquillo, Department of Migrant Workers Regional Director Mel Candano and SM Olongapo Central Asst. Mall Manager Michelle Cortez. 
