IBA, Zambales — Fireworks exploded in the sky in hues of red, green and yellow after Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. switched on the lights and declared the opening of the Zambales Christmas Village at the Zambales Sports Complex here on the night of December 1.

The lighted displays of giant Christmas trees, reindeers and candy canes, stars, bells, and flowers and other Christmas symbols fully occupied the width and breadth of the running track in the middle of the field.

Meanwhile, mascots, including the likeness of Gov. Ebdane, as well as stilt walkers, entertained the milling crowd that easily reached thousands in the opening night.

Gov. Ebdane said the nighttime spectacle is the provincial government’s gift to Zambaleños to help lift up the Christmas spirit in the community.
The Christmas Village will also be the venue of nighttime musical entertainment and variety shows that will spice up the Holiday celebration until the New Year countdown.
