SM Operation Tulong Express gives joy to Brgy. Santa Fe

SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — Residents of Brgy. Santa Fe in this town who were affected by super typhoon “Egay” were extremely grateful to SM for bringing help through Kalinga packs.

On August 7, SM volunteer employees headed by SM City Olongapo Central Mall manager Engr. Ariel Ferrer, together with PR manager Nette Mortel, building admin manager Mark Anthony Lerma, and security and agency personnel travelled to barangay Santa Fe for the distribution of Kalinga packs to afflicted families.

The Kalinga packs comprised of rice, noodles, bottled water, and canned goods.

Many of those severely affected by the super typhoon “Egay” are still trying to rebuild their lives, a process more challenging for people in an isolated area like Brgy. Santa Fe.

To help fast-track their recovery, SM Foundation, Inc. and SM Supermalls through Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) distributed 320 Kalinga packs with the assistance of the municipal government of San Marcelino, headed by Mayor Elmer Soria.

The distribution was made possible through the help of MDRRMO, MSWD, Barangay Santa Fe officials, Philippine Army, and other health volunteers.

Mayor Soria expressed gratitude to SM for the assistance they extended to his constituents.

According to the 2020 Census, Santa Fe has a population of 2,128, or 5.64% of the total population of San Marcelino. To fulfill its “Supporting Communities” promise, SM Foundation serves communities through outreach initiatives like this, as well as provide customers nationwide with relevant and helpful services.
