IBA, Zambales — Vice Mayor Joan D. Ballesteros of Iba was elected president of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP) Zambales Chapter for the term 2022-2025.

Ballesteros was elected during the chapter election held on July 19 at the Subic Peninsular Hotel in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

According to DILG provincial director Martin Porres B. Morral, who presided over the voting as VMLP Election Chairperson, the local VLMP chapter also chose other officials as follows: Christopher R. Gongora of San Marcelino, as vice president; Mary Ann R. Quiba of San Felipe, secretary-general; Lauro B. Simbol (Subic), treasurer; Joseph Jonathan A. Bactad (San Antonio), auditor; and Richard Lance R. Ritual (San Narciso), public relations officer.

Meanwhile, those elected directors are: Pedro O. Enciso of Masinloc; Christian T. Esposo (Castillejos); Gilbert A. Hermoso (Candelaria); and Leo F. Bringas (Cabangan).

Vice Mayors Doris D. Ladines of Botolan and Miguel M. Maniago, Jr. of Sta. Cruz, joined Morral as members of the Committee on Elections.

Morral said the election turnout was successful, as candidates who ran for the respective positions were unopposed and received zero election protest.

The elected officers took their oath of office before him right after the voting, Morral added.

Morral also said the DILG Zambales will continuously support the VMLP to ensure that public service is properly delivered with utmost responsibility to make a lasting impact to the people. ~
