OLONGAPO CITY — Two mall guards at the SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown received certificates of commendation from Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr. for returning cash and other valuable items and documents they found in the mall premises.
Paulino presented the citations during the flag raising ceremony for city government officials and employees on Monday.
The first recipient was SG Marvin G. Leonen from Northpoint Security agency who, while detailed as mall roving personnel at SM Cinema SM City Olongapo Central, noticed an unattended bag while conducting a roving inspection on May 11. The bag contained a motorcycle key and cash amounting to P18,000.
Leonen surrendered the items to CRS office for safekeeping and later turned the same over to the rightful owner. Leonen was also commended by the owner for his honesty and dedication to his job.

Meanwhile, SG Jonnel N. Malimban of SIC Red Eye Security Agency at SM City Olongapo Downtown found a brown envelope at the ground level around 6:49 p.m. on May 4. The said envelope contained several Union Bank cheques and pertinent documents.
He was then commended by the owner for showing act of kindness.
The SM management recalled that in the previous years, SM employees were consistent recipients of “Honesto ng Olongapo” award. Up to this date, these employees continue to be a good example to others, SM officials said. ~
