IBA, Zambales — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad initiated the conduct of an online orientation to revitalize Project Monitoring Committees of local government units (LGUs) in the province.
The zoom meeting on “Strengthening of Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) in Local Government Units” was held on November 26 to capacitate LGUs and ensure the completion of quality and valuable projects.
The activity is in coordination with the DILG Central Office represented by OPDS-Water Supply System Program Manager Relly Leysa, and the DILG Regional Office represented by Engineer Melvin Panlilio.
Said resource persons discussed the vital role of the PMCs, while the DILG Zambales Provincial Engineers gave guidance on the various project standards.

Bactad stressed that the pandemic should not hinder the stakeholders in carrying out and monitoring community-responsive projects.
“Despite the pandemic, we will strive to provide beneficial projects for our kababayans. We are committed to improve the performance of LGUs in Zambales and ensure that the projects will be properly implemented,” she said.
The activity served as the second round of orientation with the members of project monitoring committees from the municipalities of Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, San Antonio, San Narciso and Subic. ~
