DILG Zambales intensifies Disiplina Muna’s BIDA Advocacy

IBA, Zambales — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Zambales has urged government units to play an active community role in the fight against Covid-19 by enacting health safety regulations in the community.

DILG-Zambales promoted the Disiplina Muna advocacy campaign as one of the strategies to contain COVID-19 and uphold peace and order and public safety in the province during the joint third quarter meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) on Sept. 23.

Bactad presented the salient features of the latest DILG issuances on COVID-19 and peace and order, highlighting the culture of discipline towards defeating Covid-19 through the Disiplina Muna’s BIDA ang may Disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid-19 advocacy campaign.

Bactad explained that the primary aim of the campaign is to encourage the Filipinos to take an active role in the fight against Covid-19.

“We are encouraging the LGUs to enact ordinances that prescribe discipline in following the health safety standards, and organize Barangay Disiplina Brigades in each barangay to advocate for the adherence to health and quarantine protocols in order to drive and realize the core message of this campaign,” Bactad told local officials.

The BIDA ang may Disiplina: Solusyon sa COVID-19 advocacy campaign emphasizes the importance of individual self-discipline and behavior change as one of the solutions to beat COVID-19 and secure the safety of families and the nation.

Other matters presented in the meeting include: peace and order situation in Zambales focusing on the threats of terrorism, insurgency, ending local communist armed conflict, criminality, and illegal drugs.

Representatives of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) presented their programs in these areas.

Likewise, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also shared accomplishments and efforts on the management of COVID-19 pandemic in the meeting. — Nedricks P. Canlas / DILG
