IBA, Zambales — Local government officials received a heads up on rules and guidelines governing the implementation of locally-funded projects which qualify for government subsidy.
The provincial office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) spearheaded the conduct of orientation on the FY 2020 Policy Guidelines of the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) and Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa lahat (SALINTUBIG) programs on September 8 via Zoom online platform.
The meeting seeks to provide a venue of common understanding on the local government support fund programs among beneficiary local government units and apprise the LGUs on the policy procedures and strengthen its coordination on the program implementation in their localities.

The one day activity, was attended by the local chief executives, municipal engineers, municipal planning and development coordinators, and municipal local government operations officers.
DILG Cluster Team Leader/LGOO VII Judith B. Romero discussed the overview and salient features of the programs, while Engineer III Aljon S. Baustista briefed the participants on project implementation and the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of each local functionaries concerned.

Engineer III Sally Amor G. Angeles, meanwhile, discussed the projects standards for Local Access Roads (LAR) while Engr. Bautista presented the Water Supply System (WSS).
In addition, Engineer II Alled Aron C. Dela Cruz explained the monitoring and reporting guidelines of the projects, as CTL Romero informed every one of the sanctions that may be imposed and guidance on the process of termination and cancelation of projects under the said programs.

During the activity, DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad expressed her gratitude to the local officials who ensure that programs implemented are “ Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahan” projects and will be of use to the constituents.
Bactad stressed that the DILG continues its pursuit of strengthened partnership with local government units by providing technical assistance and guidance for effective, efficient and quality implementation of the locally funded projects.
