MANILA, Jan. 10, 2020 — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has announced the sale of the 10,000-piso gold and 500-piso silver commemorative coins highlighting 70 years of central banking in the Philippines, as well as the 500-piso silver commemorative coin for the BSP’s 25th anniversary.

The gold coin will be sold at Php127,000.00 and the silver coins at P3,500.00 apiece. These coins are non-circulation legal tender.

To ensure that interested buyers across the country are given equal opportunity to purchase these commemorative coins, orders shall be placed through email at anniversarycoins@bsp.gov.ph not later than 15 January 2020 on a “first mail-in, first listed” basis with the following details:

Confirmation of order and instructions on payment and pick-up shall be sent to interested buyers through email.

Non-circulation legal tender coins are coins which are legal tender, and thus can in theory be used to purchase goods or services, but are not intended to be used in such a manner.
