SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Iba town local government chief executive Jun Rundstedt Ebdane was elected president of the Zambales chapter of the League of Municipalities of the Philippine (LMP) during the election of provincial chapter officers on August 20.

Also elected as LMP officers were: vice-president, Mayor Ronald Apostol of Cabangan; secretary, Mayor Eleanor Dominguez (Castillejos); treasurer, Mayor Elvis Soria (San Marcelino); auditor, Mayor Doris Maniquiz-Jeresano (Botolan); business manager, Mayor Napoleon Edquid (Candelaria); and PRO, Luisito Marty (Santa Cruz).
Meanwhile, those who were chosen for the board of directors were: Mayors Jonathan Khonghun (Subic), Preciliano Ruiz (San Antonio), Leo John Farrales (San Felipe), Billy Aceron (Palauig), William Lim (San Narciso), and Arsenia Lim (Masinloc).
The officers will serve for a three-year term until 2022.
Zambales DILG Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad said all the municipal mayors in Zambales were present during the election held at the Golden Dragon Restaurant here.
Bactad and Shery Hanna M. Shing, who represented the LMP national office, attested to the orderly and successful conduct of the election while Zambales DILG staff Cindy C. Cagalitan and Denver Yumul formed the panel of observers.
Meanwhile, members of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) in Zambales elected their provincial officers when the group joined the NMYL convention on August 22-24 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
Those elected were: provincial chairperson, Vice Mayor Kristian Rommel Misola (Santa Cruz; vice chairperson, Councilor Reina Mae Mayor (Santa Cruz; treasurer, Councilor Sarah Jane Menor (Santa Cruz); and director, Vice Mayor Byron Jones Edquilang (Candelaria).
The elected officers of NMYL-Zambales will appoint officers for the other positions from among the members who attended the activity.
DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad served as Comelec chairperson during the election, while Atty. Rey Christopher Fajardo and Paulin Johanne Reyes served as Comelec members.
