SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The art advocacy group Rise and Excel in Arts (REXA Center) conducted a special art activity with special children on Easter Sunday by teaching students from a school for special children how to paint Easter eggs.
Around 35 participants from the Special Education (SPED) Center of the Gordon Heights Elementary School in Olongapo City joined the fun learning activity held at the Moonbay Marina Water Park.
The participants used either brush or felt-tipped marking pen to make their designs on the shell of the hard-boiled eggs. Carrie Aspa-Empeño of REXA Center said the pigments used were actually food colors to ensure that the eggs would be edible after painting.
REXA Center also gave away knitted “Brown Bunny” bonnets by @Subic Bay Hookers to the two best egg-painters among the participants: Rhob Prince and Allyson.
The event was part of the Revo Festival launched on April 21 by the Rotunda Bar & Grill, Ocampo’s, and GamaGen Media Services in cooperation with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority to further promote the Subic Bay Freeport as Event Capital in the region.
The Easter egg-painting activity was capped, of course, by the egg-eating part, which some participants were so eager to go into early in the painting session.
More photos of the Easter egg-painting activity could be viewed on the facebook page of @REXACenter.
